Luncheon Meeting - Leslie Science & Nature Center: A program for the birds . . . and kids, and community
A few years ago one of the jewels of the Ann Arbor Parks system “went private,” when the Leslie Science Center became the Leslie Science & Nature Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to continuing and expanding education programs that had served the community with excellence for decades. This unique public-private partnership (the land and buildings are still City-owned) has exceeded expectations, added a Raptor Center, and now has a new Executive Director. Meet her and one or two of the raptors (a Bald Eagle, perhaps, and/or Red-Tailed Hawk or Great Horned Owl), and learn about Leslie’s summer camps supported in part by an Ann Arbor Rotary grant.
